Melody Ranch

Melody Ranchis a very unique subdivison located just South of Jackson Hole.  It is a wonderful "family" neighborhood.  Most of the homes built in Melody Ranch have been built in the last 10 years.  Many homes in the subdivision have Teton views.  There are also open spaces and ponds to give Melody Ranch character and privacy.  Currently, there are 16 homes and 2 building sites available according to the MLS.  In the past two weeks, one Melody Ranch home has closed and three have gone under contract.  If you have any questions or would like to view any Melody Ranch properties, give us a call.

Below are a few pictures of one Melody Ranchhome that is currently available.  It was built by the owner who has built himself a good reputation as a builder in Jackson Hole.  It is an impeccably designed contemporary home backing up to open park area.  With very unique, high end finishes, Viking stove, exposed beams, circle-sawn white oak floors, black slate fireplace, and functional living space, this home offers everything a truly distinctive family could want.

Location: Melody Ranch

Property: .30 Acres

Home: 3,489 Sq. Ft., 4 Bedrooms, 3 1/2 Baths

Facebook

I do not consider myself as technologically inept, but I have been struggling over the last couple of days to make a facebook page for Spring Creek Ranch Realty.  I think that I have finally figured it out.  Being a new real estate agent, I have begun educating myself on the ins and outs of blogging, facebook, widgets(whatever those are), and many other things.  The one thing that dissapoints me is that we, as a society, depend so much on these social networks that we don't get the face to face time that I think there used to be with clientelle.  Don't get me wrong, facebook and blogging are great ways to get your name and company out to potential clients.  People that are interested in real estate have probably already viewed the MLS, seen virtual tours, and who knows what else.  I would prefer to build a personal relationship through face to face counseling, but I guess I have to get with "facebook times" that we live in.

That being said, please check out Spring Creek Ranch Realty's new facebook page and become a fan.

Change In The Market

As of late, I have been observing what seems to be a change in the market for the better.  It is our "slow" season here in Jackson Hole, but I don't believe the hype that the real estate market is dead.  From September 1, 2009 to today there have been 97 listings closed or placed under contract in the Jackson area.  Last year, during the same time period, there were 60 listings closed in the Jackson area.  Maybe there hasn't been a surplus of sales, but it seems that there is a heartbeat, and possibly a change in the market.  Our local newspapers have made the Jackson market seem abysmal or non-existent.  In my opinion, the struggle to make sellers realize that they aren't going to get 2006/07 money for their home is finally being fought and won.  Sellers are still going to make very good money on their homes.  Buyers seem to be starting to pull the trigger, possibly thinking that the market has bottomed out, or they feel that maybe they are going to get the best deal that they can expect to see.  I know that many economists see things worsening, but I'm staying positive that we will get through these tough times and I am seeing a change in the market that is supporting my positive thoughts.

Here is a moose from fishing this fall that just felt like cooling off a little bit.

Veteran's Day

I didn't get a chance to say Happy Veteran's Day yesterday, so Happy Veteran's Day and thank you to all who have served and are still serving.  In todays troubled political times, you have to remember that we have men and women still in harms way and doing the best they know how with what little they have.  We must stay in the fight and give these soldiers everything that they deserve in order to WIN these conflicts.

The picture above was my unit: Bravo Company, 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in Lawara, Afghanistan, on the border of Pakistan.

It doesn't have to be Veteran's Day to thank a veteran.

Ranger's Lead The Way!

Elk

I got up at 4:45 this morning to go elk hunting to no avail.  Though it was another beautiful morning and there were a bunch of moose out there, no elk are moving through the Teton National Park.  Low and behold, when I got home there were a bunch of elk in my driveway.

These damn elk are way too smart for me!

Elk Hunt

This mornings elk hunt was gorgeous, cool, and very crisp, but there were no animals to be seen.  We need some snow to push these animals across the river to their feed grounds.  There were 5 bull moose in front of us fighting for a cow which was pretty funny to watch.  The two larger bulls were ganging up on the smaller ones to push them out of the area.  Made for a cool morning, but not a great elk hunt.  It was still a nice place to be...See the pictures below.
